In this experiment we will demonstrate how to make a ‘makeshift’ compass.

How to make a ‘makeshift’ compass


Things you will need
- glass
- water
- cork (preferably from a wine bottle or something similar)
- needle
- magnet
- scissors
Step 1:
Fill the glass with water.
Step 2:
Take the bottle cork and cut off a slice of it (about 5 - 7 millimeters thick should be enough).
Step 3:
Take the needle and push it all the way through the slice of cork until an equal length of it sticks out at both ends.
